Triseter Kennel and Esther Joseph

Triseter was established in 1970 when owner, Esther Joseph, was breeding and showing Gordon, English and Irish Setters.

Now breeding Gordon Setters and Pugs, the kennel is situated on a farm in a beautiful rural valley, north of Melbourne, in Victoria, a southern state of Australia. The dogs live an idyllic life with room to run in large paddocks and swim when the mood strikes them. This ensures that Triseter produces happy, placid, well-muscled, well-adjusted Gordon Setters.

Handling

Esther has handled most breeds in the Gundog Group and many in other Groups. She has owned and successfully campaigned:

*Gordon Setters
* Irish Setters
* English Setters
* American Cocker Spaniels
* English Pointers
* Curly Coated Retrievers
* Tibetan Terriers
* Pugs

These included many titles of Champion, Grand Champion and Best in Show. With this experience, coupled with that of handling numerous other breeds from additional Groups on behalf of their owners, Esther is recognised as being one of Australia's experienced dog handlers.

Highlights

The pinnacle of Esther's dog handling career, she considers to have been winning Runner Up to Best In Show, from an entry of 291 Gordon Setters at Gordons2000 (an International Gordon Setter Specialty Show held in England) with the Finnish owned (by Tiina Illukka) and Australian bred Triseter Ebonie Nerissa. As a 2 year old Nerissa won Res.CACIB at Helsinki W.W Show 1998

Nerissa's litter brother, Can, Am, NZ, & Aust Champion Triseter Ebonie Nirvana and his son 'Nike'   (Am & Aust.Ch.Brodruggan Black Knight) are living in the United States. Nirvana and Nike are co-owned (along with Esther), by Colleen O'Brien, Dorothy and George Hawke and Alison Rosskamp, Nirvana has been successfully campaigned to his American and Canadian Championship titles in record time by part-owner/handler Colleen O'Brien and is standing at stud at their beautiful rural property in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania.

Nirvana's and Nerissa's sire, NZ & Aust Grand Champion Triseter Black Vader (now deceased) In his time was the greatest winning Gordon Setter in Australia's history to date. He was loved and owned by Viv McLaughlin and handled by his breeder, Esther Joseph.

Prior to the win at Gordons2000, Esther had considered handling Finnish breeder, Tiina Illukka's "Int.Ch.Caballus Out Forablaze" Curly Coated Retriever to the prestigious victory of Best in Group, at the World Winners Show 1998, in Helsinki, Finland, as the pinnacle of a long dog showing career.

2002 - 2003

The year 2002 brings more international accolades from overseas where Esther showed one of her Finnish exports, owned by Tiina Illukka and Anne Hentunen, Triseter Ebonie Scot, at the World Winners Show 2002, Amsterdam and won the CACIB and R/UP BOB from an entry comprising 70 Gordons.   Finnish gundogs cannot obtain their Champion title until they have proven themselves in Field Trials as well as the show ring.   Scot and his son, Caballus Ebonie Blizzard are showing great promise in the field in Europe.   In Australia, enough championship points won in both the field and the show ring entitle a dog to carry the prefix: Dual Champion.
