This is the first time I have had the honor to judge this Gordon Setter. I
got goose bumps when I watched him circle the ring. This dog is a Gordon
Setter of classic breed type. He has confidence, self assurance, and
charisma that is the icing on the cake. This dog's head planes with the
beautiful stop, dark eyes, correct ear placement, going into the most
beautiful neck set on into well layed back shoulders making the front legs
sit back under the dog. His forechest is deep and to the elbow. The
moderate sloping topline that is solid both on the free stack and on the go
around with hindquarters that reach well forward and stretch far back,
showing long and powerful drive. The bone and substance definitely
indicates Gordon, not English or Irish Setter. The head is carried up and
the tail 'flags' constantly during movement. This dog moves effortlessly,
with economical and harmonious function in the unsurpassed muscle tone and
condition. It was a pleasure to have this dog in my ring. and award him
Best of Breed.
